Becky Lightman

Founder, Lightman Capital

Becky Lightman is the Founder of Lightman Capital. She advises clients on all aspects of their wealth management strategy— including investments, credit, manager selection, retirement planning and complex trust and estate services. She helps clients navigate their investment options in a way that maximizes their ability to meet both financial and life goals and ensures thoughtful, creative, and appropriate expertise is dedicated to the relationship.

Ms. Lightman has worked at Bellwether Wall Street Firms, including UBS, Northern Trust, J.P. Morgan, and Goldman Sachs. Becky was the Director of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic division of the Global Family Office Group at Northern Trust, dealing regularly with clients and family offices with extreme wealth. Becky has been named one of the top 40 under 40 advisors by Boca Magazine - The Best Women in Business.

​Ms. Lightman holds a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University, where she graduated cum laude. She earned her M.B.A. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has completed additional coursework at the London School of Economics. She graduated high school from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. She holds Series 63, 66, and 7 licenses.

A native Floridian, Becky is a Director of the Yale Club of the Palm Beaches, a Yale admissions interviewer, and an active supporter of various community organizations.

 
 

Justin Boller

Chief Investment Officer

Justin serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Lightman Capital and Bison Holdings, LLC, where he chairs the investment committee, and oversees research, portfolio construction, and implementation. Justin began his investment career at Invesco in the late 1990s where he had roles with the firm’s Global Equity, Global Asset Allocation, and Quantitative Equity teams. In 2014, Justin joined Advocacy Wealth Management, LLC to focus on the wealth management aspect of the business. There, he served as Chief Investment Officer, introducing firm-level portfolio solutions and expanding access to custom strategies for clients.  

Justin graduated from Wake Forest University and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is an avid golf, tennis, and pickleball player and enjoys learning through the experiences of travel. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and two children and is an active member of the community serving on various boards and committees. 

 
 

Blake Schaper

Blake Schaper, CPA, MST, CTFA

Blake works with Lightman Capital’s clients to optimize tax, trust, estate, and business planning for complex cases. Blake pursued his Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Cincinnati. As an Investment Advisor Representative, Insurance Agent, and tax expert, Blake serves clients nationwide.

In addition to serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Bison Advisors, Blake is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA). He also holds a master’s degree in taxation and a certificate of mastery in mergers & acquisitions. Blake’s work is tailored to high-net worth and ultra high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.

Blake previously served as a Blackhawk pilot in an Assault Helicopter. He has received numerous awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Soldier of the Year for the State of Georgia (2011), and the General Douglas McArthur Award, the US Army Parachutists Badge, and the Republic of Georgia’s Mountain Warfare School badge.

 
 

Elio Chiarelli

Elio Chiarelli, Ph.D., AIF, CFPA

Elio serves as Lightman Capital’s portfolio manager and strategist. He has over 12 years of experience with client servicing, investment fiduciary guidance for plan sponsors, investment management, and portfolio construction. He has a significant background in agricultural education and economics, and he has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation through the Center for Fiduciary Studies. He has also received the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) credential from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), demonstrating the expertise required to act as a plan fiduciary and help plan fiduciaries manage their roles and responsibilities.

Elio received his BS in Agricultural Education from Penn State. He received his MS in Agricultural Education and Food & Resource Economics as well as his Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. Prior to advising Lightman Capital’s clients and starting his own investment advisory firm, Capital Defender Advisors, Elio served as the Chief Investment Officer and Chair of the Investment Committee at Kidder Advisers, Inc. for 5 years. He is also active in the community through his service with the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, the First Baptist Church of Alachua and the Gainesville Ducks Unlimited Chapter.

 
 

Kelly Whelan

Client Service Associate

Kelly Whelan acts as a critical connecting point for every stage of the account and client services processes. She achieves this through a broad understanding of the financial planning and products markets, and through her strengths in business administration, account management and high-level customer care. With over a decade in the financial services industry, Kelly has assisted hundreds of clients in roles ranging from office and operations management to fund operations, client service management and as a paraplanner. Kelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, with a minor in Business and Spanish from the University of Arizona. She is also a General Securities Representative, with both a Series 7 and Series 63 license.
